MHRN has developed several sets of useful tools (lists of diagnosis codes, lists of drug codes, etc.) to facilitate use of health system records in mental health research. All of these tools are free for any users through our online GitHub repository.
While we update these resources frequently, you could discover errors or omissions we haven’t noticed. If so, please do let us know.
Our most frequently requested tools include:
- Diagnosis Code List – ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes organized into categories (e.g. Schizophrenia spectrum disorder, deliberate self-harm) used in MHRN research and publications
- Medication Code List – NDC codes for mental health medications organized into categories (e.g. antidepressants, second-generation antipsychotics) used in MHRN research and publications
- Procedure Code List – Procedure codes for mental health specialty services (e.g. psychotherapy visits)
