Under the new NIH data sharing policy (effective February 2023) research projects funded by NIH are expected to share data used for primary analyses via a public repository. Projects funded by NIMH are expected to share via the NIMH Data Archive (NDA). Investigators may restrict the data to be shared or use a controlled mechanism for sharing in order to protect the privacy of research participants. This page includes resources to support MHRN researchers’ and other mental health services researchers’ compliance with this new policy.
Example Data Sharing Plans:
- Study using VDW data under waiver of consent
- Study with primary data collection and informed consent
- Study with qualitative data
